In 2007, Catalyst Christian Church began with a few families in David Kibler’s living room. We held our first services in March, 2008, meeting at East Jessamine High School in Nicholasville. In 2009, we moved to 4000 Park Central Avenue behind the Boot Store off US route 27.

In 2015 we start a new chapter as God has provided a new location in downtown Nicholasville. Starting in January of 2015, we have moved to 101 N 1st Street, directly behind the Jessamine County Courthouse. This has provided us the ability to minister directly to the city of Nicholasville, as well as a much more visible presence in town.

Since we began in 2008, we have been dedicated to our mission: “Planting Reproducing Gospel Communities Here, Near, and Far.” Locally, you will also find Catalyst members involved in programs such as Amachi of Central Kentucky, partnering our adults with children affected by incarceration. Some of our members are involved in foster care and adoption, while many are encouraging foster care and adoption through gifts and volunteering. Others are going into prisons and teaching fatherhood skills in the Inside/Out Dad program. Many of our congregation are involved within the local community.

Nationally, we have partnered with Regeneration Church: a church plant in Huntington, WV, and financially helped them get started. We are also partnering with Kyle Davies, a Church planter in Washington and Oregon; planning service trips, VBS events, and financial support. We have also partnered with SCORE Intl. to do baseball missions in Eastern KY.

Since 2009, we have sent many people overseas on short-term mission trips to Jamaica, The Dominican Republic, Haiti, Kenya, Nepal, and India as well as sending full-time missionaries to Haiti, The Dominican Republic, and Honduras. In 2012, we adopted 53 children in an orphanage in Dommeru, India which was later named “Catalyst Orphanage India.” Our support continues there, as we have seen more than 100 children given an education, a home, and the gift of the Holy Spirit through Christ.

This is only the beginning, though. God is still writing our story, and it gets more exciting every day.
